Biology

Anatomy

Dextroluma are a species most often described as being similar to a hybrid of fish and fungi.  Of course, that description is quite simple.

The species is bipedal with a typically symmetrical and humanoid form.  For a typical Dextroluma, the features that best differentiate them from humans are their fins, located where a human’s ears would be, which may also present on other parts of the body.  These fins glow in at least one color that is then found on the body.  They also possess horns, which are typically either bone or covered in their skin, and do not always grow from their skulls.  There are additional possible variances, such as tails being commonplace, and most notably, although it is unusual, some dextroluma are born with multiple limbs that function as naturally as the standard ones.  This can even include conjoined twins, who usually function more ably than human ones.  Additionally, Dextroluma genitalia does not always resemble that of humans - they have been observed having all sorts of genitalia types, sometimes relating to the mutations they experience, such as possessing multiple penises or a vagina made from flowers.  They have also been observed with genitalia that resembles animals or so-called monsters, from tentacle appendages to cloacas and even knots.  Rates of dextroluma being born intersex are relatively similar to humans.

Dextroluma eyes may appear unnerving to humans - and sometimes to other species.  This is because their eyes typically present with a singular color, usually white, and typically glow.

With their eerie eyes and their fins, some species have wondered if Dextroluma can hear or see normally, and rumors abound that they are actually blind or deaf.  While these conditions can appear in Dextroluma both from age or injury or illness, most Dextroluma can indeed hear and see normally.  The glow of their eyes is simply the result of a healthy diet rich in mushrooms linked to their genetic profile.  As for their fins, while they do not possess the complex chambers of a human ear, the sensitive membranes found in most fins process the vibrations of sounds in both air and water to convey the information to a Dextroluma.

Reproduction

One might infer, from the above discussion of anatomy, that Dextroluma reproduce similarly to humans.  This is generally accurate enough to how they were when the species was overall younger and lacked the advanced technologies they do now.

However, Dextroluma have, through both science and magic, developed several ways to allow partners to conceive, whether or not they have the configuration of one partner having testes and a penis of some sort and another partner having a uterus, ovaries, cervix, and vagina (or cloaca).  These advances allow lesbian, gay, and most infertile Dextroluma to create children that are genetically descended from both parents who raise them.  There are additionally some spells that purport to allow more than two parents to genetically contribute to a child, however critical reviews are mixed on the efficacy of these spells and scientific technologies have had difficulty replicating them.

Intersex and trans dextroluma do not typically face difficulties accessing procedures to have children with any partner(s) they wish, as discrimination against them has never been normalized on Aerius.  Some humans did impart their views to some Dextroluma, but there is generally backlash when those ideas are voiced.

The only Dextroluma unable to reproduce even with magical or medical assistance are those who have contracted necrosis.  Although being infertile would normally not be a barrier to reproduction with magical or medical assistance, necrosis presents unique barriers that have prevented success.  Embryos created with the genetic material of a parent with necrosis always seem to fail, unless the material was collected before their parent’s infection.  It is unlikely that this issue will be solved anytime soon.

Abortion is widely accepted and available in Dextroluma society.  It is seen as an important part of reproductive freedom, which is of course something the medical establishment of Aerius has long worked towards.  Reproductive coercion is strongly frowned upon.

Dextroluma are also able to reproduce with more than just other dextroluma!  At present, they are only known to naturally hybridize with Nunukes, which is a reason for their species’ closeness.  For more information on Nunuluma, please read this from the toyhou.se world.

That said, they do also hybridize with another species in a sense.  Dexettes only come about when the soul of a deceased Dextroluma comes in contact with a shell in the Heartlands, and are inorganic and more akin to Lockettes than the Dextroluma.  Still, they are kin and close.  The Dexette toyhou.se world is here, and will eventually contain more information.

Humans and Dextroluma are reproductively incompatible.

Aging & Lifespan

Dextroluma are a very long-lived species.  Their average lifespan has historically been about five hundred years, and the oldest known Dextroluma (in recorded history, at least) lived to six hundred and sixty-nine (although some record keepers contend that she was only six hundred and sixty-six and that the number was inflated for salacious purposes).

Some might assume this means they age slowly, and after a certain age, they would be correct.  However, up until the age of twenty-one, Dextroluma aging resembles human aging.  A ten year old Dextroluma is developmentally similar to a ten year old human.

After twenty-one, visible aging slows to a crawl for most Dextroluma.  They often do not resume visibly aging until they reach their last century.  Of course, this is not true of all - some Dextroluma do experience visible aging at younger ages.  The reasons are sometimes unclear but typically relate to experiencing significant diseases or significant life stresses.

Disability

Dextroluma culture is generally very accepting of individuals with disabilities.  While some disabilities have been more difficult to live with for differing environmental reasons over history, there have never been widespread beliefs that being disabled in any way meant someone was ‘lesser’.  Disability aids of all sorts are commonplace, and many pet and companion animal species can be trained to act as service animals for those who need one.

Disease

Dextroluma are generally not susceptible to the same diseases found among most organic species.  The same bacteria and viruses that infect humans do nothing to them.

They can occasionally get crossover illnesses from funguses not native to Aerius, or from biological species with similar enough cellular structures to their own (reproductive compatibility tend to be a good basis to determine whether typical diseases can cross over), although this is extremely unusual and generally is just treated with rest and eating a higher than usual amount of their own mushrooms.  These illnesses are typically marked by their glow color and their eyes dimming during the illness, and then strengthening back to normal as they recover.

Advanced medical technologies and magic have eradicated most other diseases that were once common on Aerius, and only a few now remain.

LUMACHROMIA

While it is far from certain if Lumachromia is an illness or an autoimmune disorder, there is some belief that it may be caused by a short-lived virus.  This is disputed hotly, as it’s proven difficult to try to track potential transmissions and exposures, but as evidence has not been able to be produced for the other hypothesis, more medical professionals lean to believing it to be a virus.

Lumachromia typically appears unexpectedly.  One moment a dextroluma’s eyes are their natural white - or the grey or black of a necrosis infection treated or untreated - and the next, they begin to take on the natural glow color found on that dextroluma’s fins and freckles.  Sometimes an individual with Lumachromia only discovers it due to contracting necrosis, if their glow color is white.  Lumachromia is known to occasionally cause difficulties with sight, though the difficulties that individuals who experience this side effect have vary wildly.

NECROSIS
Necrosis is the most prominent disease currently on Aerius, and has proven a very difficult problem to manage, even after the creation of a medication to suppress it.  This is because it is essentially a parasitic fungus, and most known treatments for fungal diseases are harmful to dextroluma.

Please visit Necrosis & The Cure for more information on this subject, as it is too extensive for this page.

Culture

Biases

Dextroluma society has relatively few biases compared to many other species.  The species never particularly formed negative beliefs based on perceived sex or gender, sexuality, or perceived ethnicity (as based off traits or the regional mushroom they consume most).

The main sorts of biases in Dextroluma society have historically hinged around class and magical ability.  The bias towards lower magical ability did wane considerably during the period of time where Aerius ‘modernized’ and is generally considered antiquated by most dextroluma nowadays outside of the Arcane Artifice’s populace.  The bias against lower classes has also waned considerably in most nations, however touches of it can still be found in every nation, especially among the nobility, and it is most prominent in the Crystal Isles.

However, there are always new biases to take the place of old ones.

The bias towards less technically adept individuals that developed during the process of modernization on Aerius has somewhat lessened in recent centuries, though it is still common in some areas, especially Galactica.

The dominant bias presently relates to whether or not an individual has necrosis.  An individual’s necrosis status is usually very easy to determine for a stranger, comparatively, and many dextroluma make judgments of each other based on it.  This is enhanced by the common terms for the three states - pure (uninfected), cured (inactive infection), and corrupt (active infection), which encourage moral judgments of each group.  In ‘pure’ society - which comprises most nations - the corrupt are ostracized and typically are forcibly cured or exiled if discovered, and the cured may be seen as suspect for having an inactive infection.  In ‘corrupt’ society - mostly isolated to the Blighted Wilds for now - the pure are typically infected quickly after being kidnapped to there or discovered on the continent, and the cured are forced to give up their medication.  The only society, currently, where these judgments are generally minimal is that of the Eternal Depths.

Gender & Sexuality

Dextroluma have similar incidences of being born intersex and being trans to what humans do, as their definitions for gender and what is assigned at birth tend to fall along lines that are roughly similar to humans.  However, no culture on Aerius ever historically developed beliefs equating any gender as lesser.  Historically, there have been many identities for gender, including a number of transgender identities equivalent to human ones.

Gender identities on Aerius are generally respected fully without any need for surgeries or magical changes, although surgeries and magical aids are available for anyone who desires them, and such surgeries are not limited solely to those transitioning.  Sometimes someone just wants a different type of penis, after all.  Gender is not made note of by government identification documents or generally considered particularly relevant for much besides dating.

Sexuality has historically had a similarly broad spectrum of accepted identities.  Before the advent of technological and magical solutions to allow reproduction between individuals with the same configurations of genitalia and reproductive organs, the upper classes did have some biases against same gender attractions, but generally it was seen as alright so long as their children were willing to produce heirs with a selected individual.

While some groups of humans did attempt - both consciously and unconsciously - to instill biases based on gender and sexuality into the Dextroluma they encountered, such attempts were generally fruitless.  There may be some families or individuals who took on those beliefs, but it is quite uncommon and most Dextroluma disapprove of those who follow human beliefs.

Some auratails have also attempted - both consciously and unconsciously - to instill similar biases.  With their more friendly relationships to Dextroluma, they have been somewhat more successful, but their biases have not spread very much, and many have instead wound up adopting views more similar to those of Dextroluma.

Family & Relationships

Dextroluma have generally not followed the human conceit of a ‘nuclear family’.  While exact living arrangements may vary, an inter-generational family community or neighborhood is often seen as the norm in most nations.  It is relatively common for Dextroluma during their first century or two to spend time outside this arrangement, and there are plenty of communities and neighborhoods across Aerius that try to mimic the concept of a family community for travelers such as these.

After the war against humans, communities and neighborhoods in most nations have sprung up to assist those who are entirely without family for any reason and to give them somewhere to feel at home.  To some degree, the war and its losses have normalized the concept of living in a dwelling alone.

In love, Dextroluma most commonly are monogamous, however there is widespread acceptance for polyamory and for simply remaining single, or even for one’s life partner being a friend rather than a lover.  This acceptance is diminished among the nobility, but not entirely absent - nobles simply tend to expect there to be a primary partner of some sort.

Nobility are the only class on Aerius that still commonly practice arranged marriages.  There are a number of reasons for this - some do it in the manner of business dealings, others do it seeking desirable traits for their family’s genetic profile, and for others it is more political.  Plenty hope to acquire Queen Iola’s support to take the place of their nation’s Royals.  Arranged marriages typically involve an individual who is assigned male at birth and an individual who is assigned female at birth, but it is not unheard of for families to arrange marriages for a pair who were assigned the same gender at birth or even to arrange marriages where there are more than two individuals involved.  Most families will take their childrens’ preferences into account - but certainly not all do.  Some families hoping to ascend to nobility do adopt this practice, but many consider it to be outdated.

Religion

Most religions that originate on Aerius involve a practice revolving around veneration to something natural to where the religion originates.  (For example, those who lived near beaches tend to have historically venerated the tides, while those deeper in the ocean tended to venerate coral or kelp forests).  These religions have never been overly formal, although there have been temples and the concept of sacrifices have been present in some.

In the present day, the most prominent religions on Aerius are based around veneration of the sun and the moon.  These religions have their primary temples in Solaris and Lunaris respectively, but many nations do have smaller temples or shrines for their veneration.  Most Dextroluma prefer to worship the moon, given that night is the time most are awake and living their lives, but worship of the sun is rather popular in the Great Sea of Sand, the Obsidian Peaks, and the Azure Coast.

These religions are not dominant by any means, nor do they view themselves as in conflict with one another or with most other religions.  There have been occasional issues, however, between Auratail temples to their Sun and Moon deities and the Dextroluma temples to the sun and the moon.  Some Auratails can be quite insistent that the Dextroluma are ‘worshipping wrong’ or ‘using the wrong names’, given that the Dextroluma veneration of the sun and the moon is related to natural cycles while the Auratail veneration is of specific deities.  For the most part, they have been convinced to ignore each other - although they keep passive-aggressively building temples and shrines next to each other and mysteriously seem to have many of their events fall around the same times…

Some Dextroluma have adopted the Auratail religion, and some Auratails have adopted one or more Dextroluma religions.

Human religions have a miniscule foothold on Aerius.  Before the war, some had been seeing growth, but the war prompted many Dextroluma to reject human beliefs they had adopted and seek the answers or comfort they needed in their own cultures.  Still, a few did cling to these human religions, and while some Dextroluma may at times be uncomfortable with them for it, they are generally left alone and their places of worship simply given a wide berth.

Holidays

Dextroluma celebrate a number of holidays each year, as well as having plenty of other holidays that are celebrated at different intervals.  For more information on these holidays, please visit the event section of the world encyclopedia.

Fashion

Dextroluma fashion varies wildly, with few dominant trends.  Generally, Dextroluma choose clothing suited for their present environment.  Someone from Glacia visiting the Obsidian Peaks would choose clothing suited for that hotter environment, rather than wearing their normal clothing, for example.

The primary commonality in Dextroluma fashion is customizability.  Clothing is most commonly custom made by tailors and seamstresses, with desired fabrics purchased either beforehand or on site, and tailored to the traits of the individual.  There are a few ‘fast fashion’ brands who have clothing with cutouts for the most commonly seen traits where they sell, and ‘fast’ tailors and seamstresses who have ready-made clothing that is then modified to account for the traits of the buyer, but they are not typical.

Animal Species

Dextroluma love the many creatures on Aerius.  While they make efforts to keep most species ‘wild’, there are a number of species they have historically kept as pets, companions, and used for food.

Technology

Science

Dextroluma have significant scientific prowess in many disciplines.  Aerius has numerous universities that specialize in different fields of study.

Of course, the discipline that Dextroluma and Aerius are most renowned in is medicine, but one thing individuals from other worlds or species sometimes fail to grasp is that for Dextroluma, science is also complemented by magic in most disciplines.

Magic

Most Dextroluma have some amount of innate magic.  Almost all Dextroluma are able to float in the air due to this, and the ability to do that is rarely lost even when magical reserves are expended.

Basic magic training is done in much the same way anything else is taught in schools or by family.  Most schools give at least some basic magic instruction, typically based around healing of small injuries.  Universities typically teach more advanced types of magic, such as medical magic, combat magic, nature magic, and enchanting, though that is hardly an exhaustive list of the options.

Some Dextroluma are educated in magic in family traditions instead, usually pertaining to forms of magic that seem to run in the family, such as the creation of constructs from magic or sending messages via dreams.

There are myriad possible ways for magic to work, though there are some natural limits to magic.  Mind control, for example, is seen as a ‘fantasy’ magic, because one of magic’s natural limits is that a user is unable to impose their will over that of another individual.  Dextroluma who roleplay often joke about the fact that the rules they follow for fun roleplay are based off the limits of magic and how funny it is that ‘no god modding’ come straight from magic itself.

Like any technology, magic requires work and study to develop new applications.  Problems cannot simply be solved by just imagining the desired result and having it happen, but require building on the work done by prior practitioners, just like science.

Medicine

Dextroluma are known through much of the space-faring galaxy for their advanced medicine, which encompasses both scientific means and magical means.

Some of the most well-known achievements of Aerius’ medical system include:

- The ability for ‘same-sex’ and most ‘infertile’ parents to reproduce with a partner with medical assistance.

- Genital construction surgeries that are able to replicate a large number of different types of genitalia regardless of what an individual originally possessed and to give it most functions.

- Pills made to treat common ‘small’ illnesses similar to the cold and flu in most species that Dextroluma know.  The average time these pills take to clear an individual of disease varies, but the average duration is twenty-four hours.

- There are intra-muscular injections that can be given to treat auto-immune disorders and manage their impacts on the body.

- The ability to grow replacement limbs and connect them to the body.  While the procedure is still classified as experimental for dextroluma, it has been perfected for use on humans and auratails.  Not every individual wants this, of course, especially as the surgeries can be rather painful and it does take nearly a year to grow a new limb, as well as the fact there can be complications from attaching new nerve endings.  It is still experimental for dextroluma as there have been unexpected complications relating to the effects of mushrooms on their bodies and it may require some new developments in magic to work fully for Dextroluma.  (Conspiracy theorists believe this is the cause of Fatal Damage in some Dextroluma, even though that was well-documented millennia ago).

This is, of course, not an exhaustive list.  However, it is important to note that neither science nor magic nor their combinations can eradicate disability, especially not the types of disability that an individual has at birth, while disabilities acquired after birth may be fixable to differing degrees, depending on what happened.

Some medical developments that affect disability aids include:

- Patches that mimic the membrane of fins that can be applied to fins to assist dextroluma who have hearing loss related to fin damage.

- Prosthetic fins can be added to limb prosthetics to assist with balance, though they cannot hear like a normal fin.

- All-Terrain wheelchairs with a magical cushioning system that protects the user from the uncomfortable bumps and shaking that can come with using standard wheelchairs on uneven ground.  This also offers support to individuals who would otherwise require highly customized chairs and be devastated by their loss.

- There are a number of potions that are made to help manage the effects of various auto-immune disorders that do not yet have an injectable science-backed treatment.

Transportation

Dextroluma transportation is quite advanced.  Before contact with other species had been established, they had already constructed advanced spacecraft capable of faster than light (FTL) travel.

Spacecraft are not the only form of transportation available on Aerius, of course.  There are planet to space transport ships that travel routinely between many cities (although not underwater ones) on Aerius to Galactica, but there are other forms of transit for traveling between the nations within Aerius’ atmosphere.  Some Dextroluma can make the trip to Galactica under their own power, generally those who have a genetic background linked to hyperspace.  Most would rather travel in spacecraft, however - it’s a good deal more comfortable.

Several other nations have specialized methods for traveling to them.

The Crystal Isles use crystal teleporters for most entries.  The teleporters are a blend of magic and science, but allow those with crystal horns or a specially issued crystal token to teleport directly to the Crystal Isles.  Dextroluma with a genetic background of air, delta, or hyperspace may be able to reach the Crystal Isles under their own power, but that typically requires far too much math to accurately predict the position of the Isles to be worth doing.  Most major cities have plenty of teleporters for travel to and from the Crystal Isles, after all, and even some smaller towns have them.

The Arcane Artifice, despite facing a similar issue with how it rotates the planet, simply constructed a number of shuttles suitable for use on the planet that complete routes along the same lines as the Galactica spacecraft.  They simply input devices on their shuttles that communicate to a controller’s network and remotely guide the shuttles back to their landing bays.  Like Galactica’s spacecraft, their shuttles are unable to descend underwater.

Lunaris and Solaris each only experience travel once per turn of the planet, roughly at midnight time and noon in the Sky Barrier when they pass by the town of Cirrus.  While it is hypothetically possible to travel to them otherwise, the only individuals who typically bypass that constraint are traveling between them and the Crystal Isles.  Any other method would, after all, require a lot more math than most individuals would consider worthwhile.  (Even routes from Galactica and the Arcane Artifice typically arrive on Lunaris and Solaris during these times!)

The Realm of Tides has both underwater areas and above water areas.  Travel to the above water areas can be done any of the ways listed above, by boat, or even by Draphibian - although those need rest along the way if used.  Travel to the underwater parts of the Realm of Tides can usually be done by swimming, by Draphibian, or by ‘capsule’, which is essentially akin to a submarine meant for individual travel and is powered by the movement of water.  (Of course, there are always the crystal teleporters too for those who can use them).

Travel to the Eternal Depths is quite infrequent, not so much because of being underwater as due to the immense pressure.  Anyone traveling to or from the Eternal Depths has to spend a certain amount of time simply learning to acclimate to different levels of pressure, and any travel has to be done gradually.  Those who are able to manage it can travel by swimming, by Draphibian, or via a larger version of the capsule that is pressurized specifically for travel to the Eternal Depths.  (This form of capsule can only be rented or purchased in a few parts of the Realm of Tides).  Even travel by crystal teleporters is limited, as visitors who use those must appear in rooms pressurized to match the Crystal Isles and then spend time traveling through a series of waiting rooms that help them gradually acclimate to the pressure of the Eternal Depths.

The sole exception in the Eternal Depths is The Dome, which is pressurized to the ‘sea level’ of Aerius.  Those who teleport from the crystal teleporters to there are generally able to do so easily, and visitors traveling by capsule can forego needing the gradual pressurization of their capsules, so long as they make certain to get one that is capable of withstanding the pressure of the Depths on its hull.

Travel to the surface nations is simpler, other than to the Blighted Wilds.  All the above methods are viable, and plenty besides them as well.  While there is not large-scale above-ground infrastructure between cities/towns/villages for things like trains or cars that require a road to drive on, there are certainly other options.  Most nations that border each other have some form of underground subway, as well as shuttles that travel in the air between them.  Individuals sometimes have personal vehicles of all sorts meant for ground travel off road, and some may even have personal vehicles meant for air travel at lower altitudes than shuttles.  And of course - there’s always walking or riding a Draphibian, though of course that makes for a much longer trip.  Within cities, towns, and villages, there are typically roads and sometimes even railways, depending on the environment.  It’s not unusual to see Draphibian-drawn carriages in some cities, as they are still favored by some wealthy Dextroluma as a sign of their wealth.

The Blighted Wilds is typically only traveled to via wooden ship.  It is an odd choice to some, given that wooden ships are seen as an old and somewhat outdated form of transportation, however, it was by decree of Queen Iola after the attack on the Crystal Isles that anything more modern be kept away from the Wilds as much as possible.  There are a few spacecraft that hover over the Wilds to surveil it from a distance, though, but they have strict instructions to not go over the land and to try to direct any crashes into the Realm of Tides…

RELATIONSHIPS TO OTHER SPECIES

Auratails

Auratails are the third extra-terrestrial species that Dextroluma have encountered, but they have built a close friendship overall.  Dextroluma generally sympathize with what Umbralucia is enduring, and actively recruit Auratails to work in proximity with research on necrosis and work with ‘corrupt’ Dextroluma, as necrosis does not effect Auratails.  Most Auratails on Aerius prefer living in either Lunaris or Solaris, but they have been spotted in other nations.

The main areas where the two species do encounter conflict tend to be either religion in Lunaris and Solaris, or with Dextroluma unfamiliar with Auratails who think night carriers are ‘corrupt’ Dextroluma.

For more information on Auratails and Umbralucia, please visit the Auratail toyhou.se world.  (Note that this CS is currently undergoing reconstruction).

Lockettes & Dexettes

Lockettes are either the first or the second extra-terrestrial species encountered by Dextroluma, depending on who you ask.  However, due to the fact Dexettes (who come from the souls of deceased Dextroluma) manifest in the Heartlands alongside Lockettes, many Dextroluma don’t consider them aliens so much as cousins and would not even count them on the list.

For more information on Lockettes and Dexettes, you may visit the Lockette toyhou.se world and the Dexette toyhou.se world.  (Note that both these CS will be undergoing a lore overhaul soon, however).

Nunukes, Nunuluma, & Xynthii

Nunukes are the fourth extra-terrestrial species encountered by Dextroluma, and both species seem to overall be quite fond of each other, having built very close ties with one another.  There are many Nunuke on Aerius and many Dextroluma in the Xygoroth Underground, and sometimes even on Xygoroth’s surface.  While Dextroluma do not have official ties to the other species who live on Xygoroth, the Xynthii, the two are aware of each other and it’s occasionally possible to spot the odd pair interacting.

Nunuluma are the hybrid offspring of Nunukes and Dextroluma.  Although there are not many of them, they are generally welcomed and approved of by both species, and are currently the only known biological hybrid of Dextroluma.

For more information on Nunukes, Nunuluma, and Xynthii, you may visit the Nunuke toyhou.se world, the Nunuluma toyhou.se world, and the Xynthii toyhou.se world.  (The Xynthii CS is not an affiliate species of the Dextroluma CS, but are deeply tied into the lore of the Nunuke CS, and therefore we wanted to mention them).

Kipitins

Kipitins are often believed to be a creature of folklore on Aerius, however there are plenty of Dextroluma who know that the tales of them are true.  In fact, there are even some Dextroluma who have become Kipitins after meeting their death in a blaze of fire and anger.  Numbers of Kipitins born from Dextroluma skyrocketed during the war with humans, and there has been a slower escalation of those numbers again as tension grows between the ‘corrupt’ and the ‘pure’.  Dextroluma are unable to travel to Smoke Pass, however Kipitins can and do choose to reside on Aerius.

For more information on Kipitins, you may visit the Kipitin toyhou.se world.

Medi-Borgs

Many Dextroluma tend to mentally lump Medi-Borgs into the label of ‘human’ or ‘lockette’, when really, they are their own unique species.  That said, at a legal level, Dextroluma do recognize the species’ existence, though there are numerous arguments in legal, political, and religious spheres about both the legality and morality of the species’… ‘condition’ of being created to serve and be owned by humans and other sapient species.  Still, as no laws have been made against this, Medi-Borgs and their owners are allowed to travel freely, and some Dextroluma medical centers have ‘hired’ Medi-Borgs by buying them before (or outright hiring, in the cases where a Medi-Borg had become independent somehow).  Toxic and Malfunctioning (or even some Glitched) Medi-Borgs may find their black sclera accidentally earn them a ticket to the Blighted Wilds if they encounter a particularly clueless guard.

For more information on Medi-Borgs, you may visit the Medi-Borg toyhou.se group.

Spiritus Oris

Information pending.

For more information on Spiritus Oris, you may visit the Spiritus Oris toyhou.se world.  (Note that this CS is under reconstruction).

Acytieta

Information pending.

For more information on Acytieta, you may visit the Acytieta toyhou.se world.  (Note that this CS is under reconstruction).

Humans

Generally speaking, humans are typically considered the first extraterrestrial species that Dextroluma encountered, though it is contested whether they met humans or Lockettes first.  Unfortunately, even now, the relationship between humans and Dextroluma is still icy.  Dextroluma at an institutional level do not trust humans, while humans typically feel unfairly maligned for events they weren’t even alive during.  Still, humans are relatively welcome on Aerius - though their ships do seem to get randomly selected for searches by Galactica authorities with impressive frequency.

Humans are a species from the real world, for more information on them, you may visit their wikipedia page.
